Friendship

I often tell people that I get my fun and laughter from my younger friends, while I get my wisdom and guidance from my older friends, sometimes the reverse and everything else in between. I strongly believe that friendship is not bound by age, and with that in mind, we can gain much insight regardless of age. Throughout our journey in life, we cross paths with so many people. Some just in passing, and just a few can have a tremendous impact on our lives. Subtle conversations can lead to long-term friendships, or on the other hand, you wish you had never spoken to some people. Nonetheless, those that had a positive impact on you can be cherished for the rest of your life.

"Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you haven't learned anything," - Muhammad Ali

I am fortunate to have met so many people over the years, who have had a positive impact on my life. The amazing part is that it started with a simple yet meaningful constructive conversation or just a simple introduction. Do not miss an opportunity for a lasting friendship, or an insightful conversation with even a stranger at a store, a game, or even a party. Just make sure your guard or radar is up since there are no doubt some unpleasant individuals out there. Missed sincere connections are often regretful, the opportunity to meet kindred spirits is always beneficial.

"Words are easy, like the wind; Faithful friends are hard to find." - William Shakespeare

"A friend may be waiting behind a stranger’s face," Maya Angelou

The sincerest of friendship is not defined by wealth, status, or acceptance, it is based on empathy and understanding for each other. I have learned over the years you cannot pick your family since you are born or married into a family. Although you can pick your friends, who eventually become part of your family. as much as we learn from family, we can also learn from our friends. You may laugh and cry among friends, and their wisdom and guidance can often help you immensely. I sincerely believe your truest of friends will never discourage or misguide you, and if they discourage you, it often pertains to your well-being and safety. Cherish the friendships you have, and sustain them forever, for it is the greatest gift that has been bestowed upon you.

"Friendship is everything. Friendship is more than talent. It is more than the government. It is almost the equal of family." - Mario Puzo

Excellent message. It's amazing the way life can be improved by bringing in the right people into your circle, and removing the wrong people.
